Rock Spring is great because it’s a true co-op — parents are active partners in the classroom. Co-oping gives me a front-row seat to my child’s daily learning and social growth and helps me form meaningful connections with my son’s classmates and teachers. The co-op model creates a supportive community where parents can ask questions, share challenges, and get practical parenting tips. We have very much enjoyed our time at Rock Spring!

Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool. It is physical capabilities bolstered by heavy play and freedom to safely wield real shovels as they dig and build strength. It is teachers who all become safe landing spaces for kids to develop resilience and emotional intelligence. As a parent of two children at Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool, I truly can’t say enough good things about this community. What really sets Rock Spring apart is the cooperative model. Both my spouse and I work full-time outside the home, so we weren’t sure how we’d manage volunteering. But the school has been incredibly flexible and supportive, helping us find a schedule that works for our family. Volunteering in the classroom has been such a rewarding experience—it’s given us a unique window into our children’s world, allowed us to build strong relationships with the teachers, and made us feel deeply connected to their early education. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of Rock Spring and look forward to many more years of learning, laughter, and growth for our family here.

Joining the Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool community has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. It is a privilege to be an assistant teacher (i.e. professional hand-washer, cuddler, and shoes-switcher) next to such loving and experienced teachers who have taught us so much about how to raise toddlers. And it is lovely to be around so many other parents who are savoring this period in their kids' lives. Both our children and we have made lifelong friends here. We wholeheartedly recommend RSCP!

Since enrolling at Rock Spring, our son joined his peer community, but we also became a part of a parenting community. The dedication of the teachers is apparent and the play-based approach has been exactly what my growing child needs. In our search for preschools, we knew we wanted a co-op model, but we never could have imagined the value of truly knowing our child's friends and being able to see him thrive in the classroom first-hand.

We love the serene, short walk to Rock Spring from our house and my children have had exceptionally patient and dedicated teachers during our years here. It seems like every weekend at an Arlington family festival or local library storytime, we are always running into other Rock Spring kids and parents. It is truly a small neighborhood school where you can make lifelong friendships and feel connected to other nearby parents in the same stage of life!
